Ezlearn was founded on a real insight: millions of engineering students across India were being priced out of quality technical education, and almost nothing in the market was built in Hindi at a price point that made sense.

I joined as CTO, which meant owning the entire technical surface. Not just writing code - setting architecture, making stack decisions, managing deployment, defining what shipped and when, and being accountable for the platform staying up for a growing user base.

The scope was massive: course delivery infrastructure, subscription and payment flows, AI-powered learning roadmaps, certification pipelines, a job portal, and a resume builder. All of it built, shipped, and handed over across an 8-week engagement.

What was built

I joined Ezlearn as Chief Technology Officer, which meant owning the entire technical operation. This wasn't a freelance engagement; it was full accountability for what shipped, architecture decisions, backend services, frontend product, deployment infrastructure, and the overarching engineering roadmap.

Ezlearn's core proposition was simple: one affordable subscription for all engineering and tech courses, delivered in Hindi. I built the platform end-to-end using Next.js and React Native - handling course delivery, subscription management, AI-powered learning roadmaps, certifications, a job portal, and a resume builder.

The backend had to handle course delivery, user state, subscriptions, and certifications reliably for a rapidly growing user base. I built and deployed the API layer on Google Cloud, set up proper database architecture with PostgreSQL and Prisma, and maintained a strict 99.9% uptime SLA across the platform's active lifespan.

The core insight

"When you are the CTO, code is only 20% of the job. The real work is balancing technical debt against product velocity to ensure the platform scales without slowing down."

Building a monolithic Node.js backend that needed to serve course content, generate AI learning roadmaps on the fly, and handle secure payments simultaneously forced brutal prioritization. The insight was knowing when to leverage managed services for video delivery versus building bespoke caching logic for user state. We achieved 99.9% uptime not by over-engineering, but by keeping the critical paths dead simple and aggressively logging everything else.

During my tenure as CTO, the Ezlearn platform scaled aggressively to support over 1,000 monthly active users. We successfully launched the entire suite of features from scratch, transforming a concept into a revenue-generating EdTech platform.

Course content was delivered reliably, subscription payments were processed securely, and dynamic certifications were generated on demand. The architecture stood up to the traffic spikes without significant downtime, maintaining our strict 99.9% uptime SLA.

At the end of the 8-week engagement, the platform was handed over in a stable, production-ready state with complete documentation for both the codebase and infrastructure, ensuring a smooth transition for the next engineering phase.
